I Have The Power- The Gentle Art Of Dentistry

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Over the years as well spending many hours every year since qualifying seventeen and a half years ago and spending thousands of pounds on dental courses in the pursuit of excellence in clinical dentistry I have also searched for ways to make visiting the dentist a much easier experience with a holistic approach. I even have experience in hypnosis and acupuncture as an adjunct to my practice. I love being able to transform lives with a beautiful smile but as importantly to transform lives by empowering an individual to have dental treatment without resorting to medication and sedation. THE GENTLE ART OF DENTISTRY. Please see a recent success story explained with a testimonial.

“I decided to attend Castle Park Dental Practice after reading Chris Branfield’s contribution in the Cottingham Times regarding nervous patients. He was describing exactly how I felt about dentists, after experiencing lots of poor treatment over the years.

At my first appointment we went through my problems and I was able to inform him what my main concerns were.

At my next appointment I had to have a tooth extracted, and I felt confident enough to have this done, even though I have had to have this done under sedation in the past. Although an unpleasant experience, it was made very easy with lots of explanation and encouragement from Chris and the nurse attending.

I have had several appointments since then, and it is such a good feeling to know that I can attend (knowing that I am going to undergo treatment) without the awful dread that I have experienced in the past.

I have no hesitation in recommending Chris Branfield and his practice to anyone who has a fear of dentists, and am really pleased that I have found someone who totally understands my situation.”

I’ve been off to London but not to visit the Queen

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I spent last weekend on a two day Osteology Foundation  course in London at the Royal College of Physicians.  Typical that it was the best weekend, weather wise, of the year.  It was a great course though and I got to see some superb international speakers who are eminent  in their field.  They were professors from Spain, USA, Italy, Germany and Greece.

I am now the first person in the region to be trained in the use of a revolutionary new gum augmentation material that gives fantastic results in the fields of dental implants, cosmetic dentistry and certain gum problems.

I’m really proud of this and look forward to improving  smiles, giving confidence, easing frustrations with this great technique and dental implants  for the good people of Hull, Cottingham, East Yorkshire and beyond.

We had success at the practice as Graham “Painless” Porter won a prize for highest score in round 1. He was presented with a bottle of Champaign by Chris. Almost the whole Castle Park Team where there and we all had a great time.

Reasons To Be Cheerful

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

After the gloom and doom of my football team ther are still many reasons to be cheerful. I managed a second caravanning trip without any mishap. We’re cooking on gas now. What really gives me a thrill, cheers me up and gives me a reason for being are the thank you messages and referrals that we get. Here is a recent example following a smile make over, cosmetic case that we did for Wayne.

To Chris the Smile Maker and Team,

Thank you very much for the smile you have made for me, my restorative dental treatment is excellent you have made me smile again, the professionalism in the practice is fantastic.

Sorry in writing a bit late but being busy.

A big thanks to all at Castle Park.

Wayne Sorrenson

I was really hit for six today when we got the second wave of thanks.

Hull City Are Going Down

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

We’ve known it for some time but confirmation came on Monday. Time to go back to basics and work at getting back on track. Good luck the new team

It Looks Like Hull City Are Going Down.

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Unfortunately it looks like Hull City will be relegated in a couple of weeks.  Unless they can win the last 2 games 17-0 each, or something like that.  Oh hum.  The financial situation looks more than ropey as well.  I just hope that they can rebuild and do it all again, learn some lessons and stay up with the big boys.

It was a great journey last time, the highlight being a trip to wembly. What a fantastic day that was.  Down but not out.  Come on the Tigers.

Are Hull City Going To Stay Up?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Oh, dear!  Hull City have a new manager in Ian Dowie.  Not sure if he is the man to keep us up with not that many games to go but I wish him all the very best of luck and hope that he can turn it around and get some points on the board quickly.  Come on lads you can do it.

My son and have season tickets and I must say that we were unlucky to lose against Arsenal.  We need to find the form that we showed against Chelsea and Manchester City at home.

No lumps out yet

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Took the caravan out yesterday to “practise”. Had a go at reversing and went well. Still no lumps taken out anyway. I was nervous going through Beverley mind you. Waiting for some better weather to give it a proper whirl.

The Torture

Monday, March 1st, 2010

I got a letter the other day saying that my son, Edward who is 13, has succeeded in getting his poem published in a book. I know that there are loads of kids who have been, are being and will be published but I am really chuffed. Well done Edward. The poem is short but I thought it was funny. What do you think?

The Torture
People running, fighting, screaming. We are cramped into one small corner, ready for our torture. It all goes silent. A figure appears in front of us, all gloomy and black, clenching something in their hand. Complete fear on our faces….
“Sit”
We do and she writes on the board. “Poetry”
